Looking for a Chesnee Home Inspector?

We've got you covered.  As a Chesnee home inspector, we are very familiar with that area of the Upstate.  Chesnee is located up Highway 221, north of Spartanburg, and it is also bisected by Highway 11.  It has good schools, nice neighborhoods and a quaint, small town feel.  If you like good Southern fast food, head over to the Bantam Chef for a meal.  Or you can stroll the downtown area.  If parks are more you liking, there's a nice one over at Lake Blaylock.  Lots of folks love to fish there as the lake has a motor restriction so you don't have to worry about jet skis and fast boats flying by every few minutes.

As a Chesnee home inspector, we find houses built on concrete slabs, crawl spaces and even basement foundations.  Many of the homes in Chesnee are in older, more established neighborhoods. In fact, some of the homes in that area are more than 100 years old. However, there are some newer housing developments if that's more to your liking.  Lots of Chesnee home inspections are being performed at this time because the real estate market is doing quite well.  Lots of people like living in the Chesnee area because it's a fairly short commute to Spartanburg and Gaffney. When you live in the Chesnee area, you get the small town advantages while also being able to enjoy the shopping and amenities of a larger city close by. In addition, Chesnee is large enough to have it's own grocery store, restaurants, auto parts stores, gas stations, etc...  They even have a flea market.  In addition, the schools in Chesnee are in close proximity to downtown.

If you like strawberries, head west on Highway 11 to Strawberry Hill USA, which has been featured in several national publications.  If you like outlet mall shopping, head east on highway 11 into Gaffney, where you'll find the Gaffney Outlet Marketplace right on I-85.  On Friday nights in the fall, you'll usually find a good crowd gathered at Chesnee High School for a football game.

The Chesnee area played a part in the American Revolution and the Cowpens National Battlefield is just a few miles down highway 11.  Lots of schools take field trips there and some metal detecting enthusiasts are still finding revolutionary war relics in the area today.  If you like to play golf, head up Highway 221 to the Chesnee Country Club, less than a mile or so from downtown.

What exactly do we do as a Chesnee Home Inspector?

Our job as a Chesnee home inspector is to conduct a visual inspection of the components of the home that include the following:

Roof System - including flashings, drainage, chimneys and plumbing stacks
Home Exterior - including porches, decks, retaining walls, stairs and steps, railings, driveways, sidewalks, exterior doors and windows
Structure - including the framing and foundation
Home Interior - including stairways, steps, railing, interior doors, appliances and cabinets
Plumbing System - including supply systems, drain systems, sinks, tubs, showers, fixtures, faucets, hot water heater and vent systems
Electrical System - including service drop, grounding system, receptacles, switches, fixtures, service panels, main disconnects, wiring and overcurrent protection devices
Heating and Cooling System - including fuel identification, age, size of units, location of air handler

When possible, we also like to look in the attic and the crawlspace. This gives us a more complete picture of how the house was constructed.

After our inspection is completed, we issue our report. The report includes details about the home and our findings regarding the components and systems. The report contains tons of information - things like the age of the HVAC system and if it is appropriately sized, the age of the water heater, building materials used, plumbing materials used, electrical component descriptions, etc... Our reports average 20-25 pages, depending on the issues we find, and include color photographs. Our reports are typically issued within 24 hours of completing the inspection and upon receipt of payment.

We conduct a Chesnee home inspection from an ethical, objective, unbiased perspective. We don't have a vested interest in the home or the possible pending real estate transaction. Our goal is to give our clients a clear picture of the condition of a home, so they can make a more informed financial decision.

We are often asked if our clients can be present during the inspection process, and the answer is YES! We love showing our clients the details of the home they want to buy. We'll walk you through how to change the furnace filter and show you where the fuse box is. We'll also show you how to shut off the water supply and help determine where the septic tank is located.

If you're looking for a Chesnee home inspector, please give us a call - we'd love to help you learn more about the house you want to buy.
